Job Title: Operating Engineer
Location: Birmingham , Alabama (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking motivated professionals to join our team in a position focused on operating, maintaining, and repairing facility equipment across various systems. Our team delivers technical expertise that is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant building operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and monitor repairs for mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems within the facility.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services including preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
- Record system readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts for HVAC systems.
- Comply with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean, safe workplace and recognizing hazards.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs of commercial building systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
