  • The BI Analyst is responsible for identifying and developing analysis tools used in querying data and generating reports for support of the departments and functional groups. Generates and analyzes data and reports for multiple business areas including daily, monthly, annual, and ad hoc reporting. Interprets, analyzes and makes recommendations for business decisions based on system information. Works cross functionally to provide analytical support and insight into methods of illustrating process, inspection, and monitoring data


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide first-level support to users of the department/functional area reporting environment. Resolve problems and answer questions related to the reporting environment and layered reports; contact vendor support when necessary; facilitate problem resolution with optimum speed and efficiency
  • Work closely with business and management teams to understand their data and reporting needs, to elicit and write business requirements and develop reporting solutions to meet business and team objectives
  • Establish and maintain strong user and management trust and confidence
  • Develop/write reports and create Dashboards for various end users; designs custom views for illustrating process results or summaries of large sets of data by interpreting the sources of data and deviation
  • Provide technical guidance by resolving problems and answering questions related to the reporting environment for internal systems (including Sites, Web Focus, etc.)
  • Serve as the liaison between Departments and IT by identifying and writing user requirements, defining and refining performance objectives, metrics, data sources and analytics
  • Establish, administer, and monitor security in the reporting environment including the setting of appropriate end-user data control levels
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end user reviews for modified and new reporting processes, and other post-implementation support
  • Communicate changes and enhancements to the reporting tools to the team or department, as well as external customers and other internal users
  • Conduct research and analysis to make recommendations on new tools and enhancements for the reporting function



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Mathematics/Statistics or related discipline preferred


Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Data Analysis/Business Intelligence/market Research role
  • Exposure to wireless industry a plus


Other Skills/Abilities

  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills, combined with the ability to formulate insights, present a compelling case for action, and deliver expert advice and recommendations
  • Considerable exposure to the operation and analysis of relational database software and standards
  • Strong technical skills including Cognos, WebFocus, SQL, MS Office
  • Proven experience writing technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, and data modeling
  • Proven ability to present and explain technical information to diverse types of audiences in a way that establishes rapport and gains understanding
  • Excellent organization, program/project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
