Job Purpose:

  • This successful candidate will become a member of a multi-disciplined team, within our GIS/ Maps & Records department. The coordinator will aid the business with a key focus on process improvement, quality controls and assurance. Ensure the Department is meeting requisite goals. This position will work alongside represented personnel This position may be subject to federal drug and alcohol testing requirements

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist team management in overseeing the operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized to create and deliver work plan within desired Line of Sight goals
  • Ensure quality assurance, quality control and safety to achieve Line of Sight goals
  • Review, approve, and post maps and records projects in GIS and other applications
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the backlog databases daily into clients GIS applications to ensure timely delivery of information and safe operation of public gas facilities while meeting regulatory requirements and maximizing cost recovery returns
  • Conducts periodic mock audits in-department
  • Periodic input of mapping data into the GIS Applications
  • Generate and update various reports as required to monitor performance against Line of Sight deliverables which include Safety, KPI’s & Compliance metrics
  • Maintain Record Retention database & prepare and process Mapping Historical documents as well as others for storage as required by client policy where applicable
  • Support other regions within the Mapping Department as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in IS, GIS, Engineering, Business or closely related field
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong leadership, influencing, relationship building, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to promote team working and harmonious working between site staff, project teams and contractors
  • Ability and experience to lead in an Automated Mapping/GIS environment
  • Desired: 5 years’ experience in Mapping, Engineering, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in a drafting capacity
  • Knowledge and understanding of Natural Gas utility electronic and manual mapping systems as well as knowledge of map symbols, practices and standards
  • Advanced skills in MS Access, Excel
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Possess sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history
