Job description:

Provides firmware technical expertise for the design and development of Neuromodulation implantable medical devices. Works closely with product development team to establish product development goals while ensuring market compatibility.


Must have:

  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Extremely familiar with IEC 62304. Candidates had used IEC 62304 in firmware development. Able to demonstrate ability to understand and comply with applicable FDA, European regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policies, and tasks
  • Experience in firmware development for medical devices. Familiar with configuration manager, issue tracking and firmware IDE tools (Bitbucket, Jira, IAR, etc.)
  • Experience with firmware software development life cycle
  • Strong in diagnostic and hardware/firmware troubleshooting
  • Experience with firmware designs for low power, mixed signal embedded systems for embedded devices
  • Minimum of seven plus years of progressively more responsible firmware development work experience in analog and digital (embedded systems) development, including firmware, unit and systems level testing and integration activities



  • Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources (regulatory, customers, etc.) to ensure development programs meet regulatory and customer requirements
  • Provides technical assistance for diagnosing design and manufacturing quality problems
  • Development and documentation of compliance reports, test plan protocols, standard operating procedures, specifications and test procedures
  • Reviews and provides functional approval for project and quality system documentation
  • Firmware developments


Good to have:

  • Experience with BLE firmware design and implementation for embedded devices
  • Experience with ARM and mixed signal processors (such as the MSP430)
  • Experience with implantable medical devices
  • Have good understanding of computer architecture and embedded firmware development best practices
  • Familiar with product lifecycle management tool (Windchill, etc.) and requirement management tools (DOORS, etc.)
  • Masters in Engineering
