Job Summary

  • A member of the U.S. IPVU Medical Affairs team, the Medical Digital Strategy Lead will be responsible for advancing the use and effectiveness of digital channels and platforms for enhanced delivery of medical content to healthcare providers (HCPs
  • He/she will partner closely with the in-house Medical Digital Strategy Lead on the development and execution of the iPVU medical digital strategy
  • Key areas of focus include
  • Development / maintenance of digital solutions (e.g., website)
  • Content development
  • HCP engagement and communications plan
  • Measurement/Monitoring
  • Governance/Training

Major Accountabilities

  • Critical responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to
  • Drive medical digital initiatives, ensuring successful execution, evaluation, and optimization
  • Develop digital content for HCP stakeholders that can be shared across multiple platforms (including exploration of innovative formats)
  • Contributes to the ongoing evolution of the US Medical Affairs website (e.g., enhancements) and efforts to enhance our digital footprint (e.g., exploration of other channels)
  • Develop and execute the digital communications tactics to drive stakeholder awareness, as appropriate
  • Provides support in the development of new concepts and shepherd them through review with legal, compliance, and regulatory (from concept to approval)
  • Serves as a key strategic partner in the development of digital medical launch readiness strategies and annual medical plans
  • Utilizes web analytics and performance data to understand how stakeholders are engaging with digital resources; recommend and implement improvement initiatives (including content and site functionality)
  • Identifies, establishes, and manages external strategic partnerships with organizations to develop innovative and value-added solutions to further engage with stakeholders and enhance the care of patients
  • Keeps abreast of relevant medical digital trends and best practices
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with cross-functional colleagues in the US and globally, and with HCP/KOL stakeholders
  • Manages medical communications, digital, & creative agencies, including overseeing their selection, where relevant, and contract responsibilities

Education & Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or MS) in Life Sciences
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or agency side) with strong working knowledge of and sensitivity to U.S. regulatory / compliance guidance regarding scientific exchange and the dissemination of medical information
  • Previous experience managing or contributing to digital innovation initiatives (i.e., fostering customer engagement through virtual & digital channels) within the pharmaceutical industry (or on the agency/vendor side, specific to medical)
  • Relevant therapeutic area experience (immunology / rheumatology / dermatology) preferred, but not required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in the use of English grammar, punctuation and spelling
