Job Title: Remote Business Systems Analyst

Location: Waltham, MA (Remote with occasional travel to office and client locations in MA, NH, RI, and NY)

Join our Chief Data Office team as a Business Systems Analyst, playing a crucial role in driving our vision of a clean, fair, and affordable energy future. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team of data and analytics leaders, working to develop and manage data products that empower our business to make data-driven decisions, drive growth, and bring efficiencies to our data processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical business and data requirements in collaboration with business SME’s, data modelers, and development teams.
  • Understand and relate use cases and other requirements to the data design.
  • Assist the business in identifying how data supports business processes.
  • Collaborate with Development Team in the design and implementation of new data lake/ data warehouse.
  • Participate in testing of new data platform.
  • Support the use of innovative data tools and techniques to automate data preparation and integration.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data management, information systems, information science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in business systems analysis, including business analysis and technical writing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in utilities.
  • Deep experience working with varied skillsets including information architects, data architects, data modelers, and data engineers.
  • Knowledge and experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases, Snowflake is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data life cycle and data development process.
  • Experience in systems integration both ETL/ELT especially with modern IO tools.
  • Proficiency in modern script and coding languages and experience with creating and implementing testing plans.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standard models, preferably for the utility industry, knowledge graph networks, or ontologies.
