Job Title: SAP Payroll Functional Expert – US Payroll & WFM SME

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Payroll Functional Expert to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for US Payroll and Workforce Management (WFM). This role will involve reviewing existing payroll and time processes, supporting key testing phases (SIT, UAT, payroll parallel), and providing oversight on system integrator (SI) vendor activities.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of SAP ECC Payroll, US payroll compliance (including Davis-Bacon), and experience working cross-functionally with IT, HR, and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the SME for US Payroll and WFM processes in an SAP ECC environment.
- Conduct detailed reviews of current payroll and time tracking business processes.
- Support all testing phases, including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and payroll parallel runs.
- Provide oversight and guidance on SI vendor configuration and delivery.
- Identify, track, and manage project issues and risks across multiple workstreams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll regulations, including Davis-Bacon requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in IT, Finance, HR, and external partners to align on payroll requirements and timelines.
- Support integration activities and data migration related to payroll systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 9+ years of hands-on SAP Payroll functional experience.
- Deep expertise in SAP ECC Payroll, especially within a US payroll context.
- Experience with project management, risk identification, and cross-team coordination.
- Familiarity with integration touchpoints, data migration, and payroll testing strategies.
- Strong knowledge of WFM and time management processes.
- Experience with Davis-Bacon Act compliance in payroll processing.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with public sector or unionized environments.
- Background in large-scale SAP transformation or upgrade projects.
- Experience working with third-party vendors or SI partners.
