Job Title: Fiber Construction Manager
Location: San Diego, CA (with potential assignments in LA)
Join our team as a Fiber Construction Manager, where you’ll be at the forefront of small cell node projects, ensuring their successful and safe completion. You’ll be our expert on-site, coordinating contractors, OEM installers, and customer representatives, and ensuring all work aligns with our safety policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of construction for our client’s small cell node projects
- Participate in and make recommendations for Vendor/GC selection
- Track and support the procurement of necessary materials
- Regularly visit sites during construction, including bid walks, pre-construction walks, and construction closeout visits
- Maintain project costs within budget, identify and mitigate risks
- Ensure all jobs are accurately maintained in a project tracking system
Skills Required:
- Minimum five years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience, preferably with small cells
- Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground) for Small Cells and Fiber
- Familiarity with RF Sweep and PIM tests, Fiber Optic OTDR/OPL testing
- Working knowledge of GO95, NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards
- Experience leading construction/installation crews and managing multiple projects
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Excel
Education/Certifications:
- High School degree
- A valid CA driver’s license is required
- OSHA 10 Certification (If not current, will need to take our client’s training within first 2 weeks)
