Job Title: Manufacturing Technical Specialist – Expert
The Specialist in Advanced Manufacturing Techniques will be an integral part of our client’s operations, ensuring the seamless production of high-quality Printed Circuit Board (PCB) rework and modifications. This role requires adherence to stringent Safety and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols, while also contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold all Safety and ESD protocols, ensuring the consistent production of superior quality PCB rework and modifications.
- Execute a range of moderately complex tasks within a manufacturing setting, under the general supervision of senior staff.
- Assist in the initial troubleshooting of production issues, implementing corrective actions and process improvements as required.
- Collaborate directly with other team members, fulfilling Engineering requests as necessary.
- Prioritize workload with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing production demands.
- Adhere to LEAN manufacturing methodologies, contributing to the achievement of business objectives and departmental goals.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in PCB assembly and repair, manual hand soldering, and the use of automated equipment.
- Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, automated machinery, microscopes, and soldering equipment within a production setting.
- Exceptional soldering skills, with experience using both leaded and lead-free solder wire and solder pastes.
- Experience in constructing Surface Mount PCBs from drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work with extremely small components, using a microscope for extended periods.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PCB workmanship criteria and standards.
- This role necessitates specialized training or certification in PCB repair standards. Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies will be highly regarded.
