Job Title: Senior Benefit Specialist
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Job summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Benefit Specialist to support Total Rewards Analysts and play a vital role in the administration of health and welfare benefits across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. This position requires deep knowledge of benefits regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with HRIS systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Total Rewards Analysts to understand benefits processes and compliance requirements.
- Act as the Tier 1 escalation point, assisting Benefit Specialists with inquiries.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, responding to Tier 2 (Benefit Analyst) cases.
- Partner with internal teams (HR, finance, legal) to ensure accurate benefits data and deductions.
- Address vendor and carrier inquiries and process invoices.
- Monitor and update Knowledge Base Articles to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with annual enrollment, year-end processes, and 1095 filings.
- Generate and audit reports to maintain data accuracy.
- Compile data for benchmarking surveys and other reporting needs.
Skills Required:
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration.
- 2+ years in a senior-level benefits administration role.
- Experience managing third-party vendors.
- Subject Matter Expertise in ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, 401(k), Medicare (preferred).
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
- Highly collaborative with excellent judgment and adaptability.
- Professional certification preferred (PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
