Job Title: Avionics Systems Safety Engineer
Location: Everett, WA (100% Onsite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply modeling, simulation, and data analytics methodologies & tools, including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
- Act as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups throughout the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
- Aid in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability, and maintenance cost.
- Validate and verify airplane and system design reliability requirements, and allocate reliability requirements to suppliers.
- Evaluate design maintainability using digital maintainability tools, including virtual and augmented reality tools.
- Regularly interact with airplane system suppliers, business partners, airline customers, airplane development program leaders, and functional management.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an ABET (or similar) accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- Commercial airplane certification in the US.
- Authoring system safety assessment (SSA) for commercial airplanes.
- Authoring fault tree analysis (FTA) for commercial airplane systems.
- Authoring FMEA for commercial airplane systems.
- Previous commercial airplane maker work experience in safety and reliability analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Experience with project planning and execution.
- Technical leadership experience.
