Job Title: Data Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, CA or Thousand Oaks, CA (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
Join our client’s team as a Data Scientist, where you’ll play a crucial role in developing scalable web applications to support high-throughput proteomics research. You’ll enhance existing Python-based frameworks, ensuring they can handle complex biological datasets. Collaborate with bioinformaticians and scientists to drive data-informed decisions in discovery research.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Python-based web applications using Flask for backend and Dash/Plotly for frontend.
• Design and integrate backend logic and REST APIs with clean object-oriented programming practices.
• Work with various database systems, applying best practices in schema design for large-scale biological datasets.
• Contribute to shared codebases with strong version control, testing, and documentation.
• Leverage biological data understanding to create impactful visualizations for experimental scientists.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices is a plus.
Skills Required:
• Proficiency in Flask/Dash applications for both backend and frontend.
• Experience in Python web application development.
• Strong skills in designing and integrating backend logic and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of database systems and data modeling.
• Experience with biological quantitative data is advantageous.
• Familiarity with proteomic or transcriptomic datasets is a plus.
