Job Title: Field Communications Technician III

Job Summary:
Join our client’s IT team as a Field Communications Technician III, where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting regional telecommunications systems. This position offers the opportunity to work independently, tackle dynamic projects, and provide essential support and training to field operations personnel.
Job Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot communication systems, including voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and satellite equipment.
• Assist with project-related system implementations and direct local contractors in telecommunications system maintenance.
• Act as a liaison between field operations and the IT organization, providing first-level support and training.
• Drive field standards and offer feedback to the communications engineering team.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support and travel up to 40% as needed.
Skills Required:
• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Electronics or 7 years of equivalent experience preferred.
• FCC license preferred; network certification like CCNA is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in telecommunications systems installation and maintenance.
• Proficiency with test equipment, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and interact with internal and external teams.
• Physical capability to work outdoors and operate a motor vehicle safely.
