Job Title: Operating Engineer 5
Location: Albany, New York (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are seeking a proven engineering professional to oversee the operational management and daily administration of a leading facilities team. Our team is dedicated to maintaining safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across multiple critical building systems, driving asset value and reliability for this organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead monitoring and maintenance of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and other mechanical/electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee contractor activities and manage building infrastructure projects, including preventive maintenance scheduling and repair frequency determination.
- Implement and manage safety training programs while ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Supervise, hire, train, and develop engineering and maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of professionalism and operational excellence.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- Associate Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent related work experience.
- Seven or more years of facility-related work experience with demonstrated customer service excellence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes, construction planning/execution, and working understanding of mechanical/electrical/HVAC systems.
- Universal Technician Certification for CFCs and Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent required.
