About the role
- Our business continues to expand in new ways to serve our global members. Our mature enterprise design system is currently focused on web-based experiences, however we have identified a growing demand for mobile support across a number of business areas. Teams are looking to build responsive web apps with some additional flourishes of nativelike interaction experiences that the design system needs to support.
What you’ll do
- Extend web-based design system for mobile (responsive web) use cases
- Supplement the design system with components and interaction patterns that feel native to iOS
- Audit current design system for mobile readiness
- Conduct light research with partner teams and externally to bring best practices to the system
- Lead the design, feedback gathering, iteration, and launch of new and existing mobile variants
- Create robust design specs for engineering hand off
- Document mobile changes for designers and engineers using the system
- Collaborate directly with the system design team, primarily designers, but also engineers to ensure solutions are scalable, stable, and seamless to use
- Build for accessibility up front in the design process and advocate for inclusive experiences
- Maintain and improve component design library in Figma based on user feedback
- Drive thoughtful engagement with our design community by participating in our operational programs like Office Hours, slack support, etc
The must haves
- 3+ years of explicit design system experience (usually on top of 10+ years of product design experience)
- Experience designing responsive web (native iOS preferred)
- Experience owning and contributing to a design system in Figma
- Excellent communication skills to articulate decisions and rationale
Optional nice to haves
- Experience designing native Android and React Native mobile components
- 10+ years experience designing for enterprise products via an enterprise design system
