Job Title: Facilities Plant Engineer
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a results-driven professional to deliver critical engineering support, manage construction initiatives, and uphold compliance with standards and regulations across facility projects. Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual and final designs, cost estimates, and provide maintenance support for architectural, civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical phases of facility projects.
- Review designs and construction documents for compliance with customer requirements, applicable building codes, and regulations, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
- Lead or support construction projects, including vendor selection, contractor proposal input, monitoring progress, ensuring documentation accuracy, and presenting project information to stakeholders.
- Interpret regulatory standards, research codes, provide alternatives to ensure compliance, and assist with securing permits as needed.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a PhD in an engineering discipline with experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in facilities, construction, or plant engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering disciplines within building, equipment installation, utility systems, and grounds projects.
- Familiarity with construction principles, project management, code review, and maintenance support processes for facilities.
