Job Title: Fiber Planning Engineer
Location: Conshohocken, Pennsylvania (Onsite)
Job Summary: We are seeking an engineer to drive large-scale fiber network rebuild efforts for a critical transmission and distribution program. Our team enables vital telecommunications upgrades by overseeing portfolio-wide fiber design, planning, and network integration in support of advanced utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Guide internal network architecture by developing fiber planning and execution strategies for rebuild projects.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to produce logical schematics and geographic designs for MPLS, DWDM, and SONET systems.
- Review and refine transport solutions, collaborating on schedules, budgets, and work requests based on project requirements and field analysis.
- Participate in regular project meetings, site visits, and deliver process documentation to support project execution and quality assurance.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related ABET-accredited discipline with a minimum of 3 years relevant electrical engineering experience, or a Master’s with 2 years relevant experience.
- Proven experience in utility or fiber network design; knowledge of design tools such as GIS is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical aptitude, and ability to manage complex information are essential.
- Self-motivated approach with robust organizational abilities and willingness to participate in field site visits and team engagements.
