Job Title: Worker’s Compensation Defense Legal Secretary
Location: Glendale, California (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced professional to support our client’s legal team in workers’ compensation litigation. Our team values individuals who can efficiently manage complex casework and maintain precision throughout the filing and communication process.
Responsibilities:
- Navigate the Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS) for electronic filing of pleadings, motions, and petitions.
- Manage legal calendars proactively, including scheduling MSCs, Trials, Depositions, and Lien Conferences.
- Draft and format legal documents, such as Answers, Objections to PTP reports, DORs, and Trial Exhibits.
- Coordinate with claims adjusters, opposing counsel, and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board as needed.
Required:
- Minimum 4 years of workers’ compensation defense experience.
- Proficiency in EAMS, MS Office Suite, and legal case management software (such as Legal Files, Aderant, TimeMatters, or Guidewire).
- Comprehensive knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws and WCAB procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume desk work with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
