Job Title: Senior Engineer
Location: Thousand Oaks, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a scientific professional who will support laboratory operations and innovation in synthetic chemistry processes. Our team values hands-on technical expertise and collaboration to advance data-driven experimentation within a highly regulated laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and support day-to-day synthetic chemistry experiments and kilo-lab operations, ensuring compliance with safety and laboratory practices.
- Design and implement high-throughput experimentation workflows for reaction, solubility, and crystallization screening, utilizing automation for data-driven experimentation.
- Apply analytical and solid-state tools—including HPLC, XRPD, DSC/TGA—and kinetic modeling platforms to generate and interpret experimental results for process understanding.
- Participate in the maintenance and improvement of laboratory equipment, support inventory management, and contribute to laboratory workflow optimization initiatives.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant industry experience, master’s degree with two years, PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field, associate’s degree with eight years, or high school diploma/GED with ten years of experience.
- Demonstrate solid foundation in chemical synthesis, synthetic laboratory operations, and safe laboratory practices; experience with kilo-lab or pilot-scale environments preferred.
- Proficiency with high-throughput experimentation, analytical and solid-state techniques, and automation workflows for laboratory research.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with process modeling and simulation tools is a plus.
