Job Title: Staff Civil Designer
Location: Kansas City, Missouri (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated professional to support our team by delivering a variety of civil engineering design projects. Our team values strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to achieve high-quality outcomes on diverse, complex assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, report and specification preparation, as well as construction documentation and environmental plans as a core member of the project team.
- Design civil engineering projects such as site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, water and sanitary sewer utilities, sediment and erosion controls, and traffic and facility layouts.
- Develop project drawings, execute changes and mark-ups, analyze topographical and geologic data, and incorporate design codes and specifications into all project documentation.
- Review design drawings for quality assurance, update project files logically, and ensure all work aligns with project scope, budget, and schedule requirements.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or related field and 7 years of related experience; OR associate degree and 8 years of related experience; OR 9 years of progressive detailing and design experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Excel for developing design deliverables.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering theory, calculations, design systems, and the ability to apply related discipline design software as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment.
