Job Title: Associate Scientist
Location: Thousand Oaks, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented individual to join our team, providing critical scientific and technical expertise in analytical chemistry in support of biopharmaceutical research. Our team is dedicated to advancing innovative human therapeutics by applying advanced mass spectrometry and protein analysis techniques within a highly collaborative laboratory environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver scientific and technical support to drive early discovery research through to late-stage molecule optimization for a pipeline of drug candidates.
- Execute analytical characterization techniques such as RPLC-MS for intact, reduced, and subunit protein mass analysis, and support high-throughput MS processes when applicable.
- Perform protein digestion and RPLC-MS/MS to map and characterize post-translational modifications, contributing to detailed protein analysis workflows.
- Independently advance laboratory projects, maintain accurate records in an electronic lab notebook, and communicate scientific results effectively in both verbal and written formats.
Required:
- Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in biopharmaceutical analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or equivalent; or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience using analytical characterization techniques such as RPLC-MS for intact protein, reduced and subunit protein mass analysis, experience with rapid-throughput MS, such as Rapidfire-MS, is a plus.
- Exposure to protein digestion and RPLC-MS/MS for mapping and characterizing post-translational modifications, including deamidation, isomerization, and oxidation, and associated data processing.
- Demonstrated ability to generate, process, and utilize large LC-MS analytical data sets within biopharmaceutical or equivalent environments.
