Job Title: Transportation Logistics Specialist
Location: Inver Grove, Minnesota (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced transportation professional to help ensure efficient truck transportation of materials and products from origin to destination within a leading organization. Our team is looking for someone who can support critical supply chain operations by delivering cost-effective and reliable freight solutions across multiple product lines.
Responsibilities:
- Support enterprise transportation carrier management strategy, including rate negotiations, relationship management, capacity management, and spend oversight.
- Negotiate rates and contract terms with truck carriers, maximizing load pairing and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Independently analyze current transportation operations to identify and resolve process improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
- Monitor carrier performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), taking corrective action to ensure required service levels are met and third-party relationships remain profitable.
Required:
- Ability to work in a hybrid role, with on-site presence required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8am-5pm, and openness to potential overtime during harvest season.
- Experience updating transportation management systems (such as TMS), internal documents, spreadsheets, databases, and handling truck freight invoice issues.
- Proven knowledge or experience in truck transportation, freight rate analysis, contract negotiation, and stakeholder communication within supply chain environments.
- Capability to participate in a two-round interview process, including both hiring manager and panel interviews.
