Job Title: z/OS System Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled technical professional to support mission-critical automation and event management tools within a large enterprise environment. Our team drives cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives through robust mainframe automation and monitoring solutions that are crucial for operational stability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, customization, and administration of mainframe operations automation, including integration and optimization for large, complex environments.
- Consult with engineering teams to evaluate hardware and software interfaces, develop performance requirements, and address technical issues as they arise.
- Develop, implement, and manage software testing, validation procedures, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues, collaborating closely across teams to ensure resiliency, reliability, and continuous improvement of mainframe automation capabilities.
Required:
- Strong proficiency in z/OS (MVS) operations in large-scale environments, including expertise with Sysplex, IPL procedures, and current working knowledge of subsystems such as JES2, SDSF, RACF, TSO, TCPIP, Control-M, CICS, and DB2.
- Practical experience with NetView customization, REXX programming, and System Automation policy database management—including command lists and automation table management.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and demonstrated ability to resolve automation and mainframe issues quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum.
