Job Title: Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a driven professional to join our team and support essential cytometry operations in a dynamic shared laboratory environment. Our team relies on strong technical acumen and exceptional reliability to ensure scientists have the critical resources and support needed for successful experimentation and research.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain flow cytometry analyzers and cell sorters, including startup, shutdown, monitoring, and scheduled maintenance.
- Support multiparameter panel design and optimization for both conventional and full-spectrum cytometry instruments.
- Provide training and support to lab users on equipment operation, experimental setup, and best practices while ensuring compliance with BSL-2+ safety standards.
- Troubleshoot cytometer issues, oversee manual waste handling, and proactively consult with laboratory users to facilitate successful experiments.
Required:
- Doctorate, or a master's degree with 2 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, including cell sorting and operation of both analyzers and sorters.
- Proven ability to design and optimize multiparameter panels for conventional and full-spectrum cytometry.
- Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting instrument issues, supporting users in a shared-resource or service-based laboratory, and adhering to safety standards.
