Job Title: Associate Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a scientific professional to join our team supporting critical laboratory operations in a fast-paced research environment. Our team values dependability, adaptability, and precision in executing established workflows to drive key research projects forward.
Responsibilities:
- Perform membrane protein purification activities, including cell lysis, membrane pellet preparation, and affinity chromatography using various purification systems.
- Operate AKTA chromatography systems and conduct protein purification, SDS-PAGE gels, western blots, and protein concentration analyses.
- Prepare laboratory reagents, buffers, and samples; maintain accurate experimental records within electronic systems.
- Support inventory management, reagent preparation, laboratory organization, and collaborate with cross-functional team members to meet project timelines.
Required:
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific discipline, OR 2 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings, OR 4 years of experience with an Associate’s degree, OR 6 years of experience with a high school diploma / GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience with proficiency in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, including micropipetting, centrifuges, balances, pH meters, and related laboratory equipment.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and mammalian cell culture practices, with ability to follow protocols and maintain detailed documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and experience working collaboratively within a scientific team environment.
