Job Title: Datacenter Engineer
Location: Itasca , Illinois (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a Datacenter Engineer to support the physical operation, deployment, and continuity of critical data center environments. Our team is looking for someone who can help ensure secure, highly available, and resilient infrastructure through careful execution, strong documentation, and close collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform physical data center work including rack-and-stack activities, structured copper and fiber cabling installation, hardware break-fix tasks, and asset management.
- Support the deployment and connection of server and network technology within data center environments.
- Follow formal change, incident, and access management processes while maintaining alignment with team standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and remote hands to complete work safely, accurately, and with clear documentation.
Required:
- Direct experience with physical data center operations, including rack-and-stack, structured copper and fiber cabling, hardware break-fix, and asset management.
- Solid understanding of power, cooling, and physical security controls.
- Experience working in enterprise data center environments and within regulated environments.
- Ability to work closely with engineers, vendors, and remote hands while using teamwork and collaboration to complete assignments.
- Experience with standard tooling such as ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, and DCIM systems is required.
- Experience or comfort operating within formal change, incident, and access management processes is required.
