Job Title: Authorization Specialist
Location: Plymouth, Minnesota (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are partnering with a company seeking an Authorization Specialist to support insurance authorization activities and help ensure services are processed accurately and in line with payer requirements. Our team is looking for a detail-oriented professional who can communicate effectively, manage competing priorities, and contribute to a positive experience for patients, payers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Submit and follow up on prior authorizations through fax and web portals while ensuring information is completed accurately.
- Communicate with insurance companies, internal teams, and customers to obtain required information and resolve authorization-related issues.
- Document authorization activity, maintain patient records, and support accurate reporting of payer changes, billing rules, and documentation updates.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls as needed and collaborate with team members to support workflow, operational projects, and customer service goals.
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED, Vocational Education, or equivalent.
- No prior experience required.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Phone skills and experience using TIMS or a website-based insurance system are required, along with the ability to conduct telephone conversations, read medical and insurance information, and communicate clearly.
