Job Title: Associate Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking an Associate Scientist to support protein production, purification, and analytical workflows within a fast-paced research environment. Our team is looking for a hands-on scientist who can execute laboratory protocols accurately, maintain detailed records, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality protein reagents that support discovery-stage research.
Responsibilities:
- Perform protein purification using AKTA/FPLC chromatography systems, including affinity, ion-exchange (IEX), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), and size-exclusion chromatography (SEC).
- Conduct protein and antibody characterization using analytical HPLC, SDS-PAGE, endotoxin testing, LC-MS sample preparation and submission, and related quality control methods.
- Support laboratory operations by preparing buffers and reagents, performing buffer exchange and dialysis, maintaining inventory, and keeping the lab organized.
- Document experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately, and collaborate with scientists and cross-functional team members to support project timelines.
Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in protein purification, protein analytics, or related biologics research in an academic or industry setting.
- Proficiency with AKTA/FPLC chromatography systems, HPLC, and related laboratory equipment.
- Experience with protein characterization and analytical techniques, strong attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
