Job Title: General Engineering Technician / Technologist
Location: Genoa, Ohio (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are presenting an opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional to support commissioning, startup, and operations for power and energy infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in helping ensure safe turnover, reliable system performance, and effective coordination across engineering, construction, operations, and OEM partners.
Responsibilities:
- Support commissioning, startup, and system turnover activities for power and energy infrastructure, including automation systems used in BESS, substations, and generation assets.
- Coordinate FAT/SAT activities, systemization, punch-list closure, and commissioning readiness reviews while maintaining focus on safety, cost, and field resource management.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, automation test protocols, technical briefings, and post-event summaries for project leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA, and communication-related issues in the field while supporting corrective actions, operator training, and continuous improvement efforts.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, commissioning, or industrial automation is required.
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, HMI interfaces, and communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850, as applicable, is required.
- Experience supporting commissioning workflows, including system turnover packages, redline validation, and documentation tracking, is required.
- Ability to work 12-hour 7-day on/off rotating shifts and occasional nights and holidays is required.
- Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, loud areas, confined spaces, elevated locations, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs is required.
