Job Title: Quality Control Scientist
Location: Westborough, Massachusetts (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are recruiting for a Quality Control Scientist opportunity supporting GMP microbiology operations in a highly regulated environment. Our team is seeking a candidate who can provide technical leadership, strengthen contamination control practices, and help ensure the reliability of microbiological testing and quality systems.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for microbiological testing programs, including environmental monitoring, sterility, endotoxin, mycoplasma, microbial identification, and contamination control.
- Support laboratory operations and technical initiatives by partnering with QC Microbiology leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Develop and deliver aseptic technique and contamination control training for manufacturing and QC personnel.
- Review and approve microbiological data, protocols, quarterly reports, SOPs, and other technical documentation while supporting trending, investigations, CAPAs, and change control activities.
Required:
- BS degree in Biology or Microbiology with 10+ years of relevant experience in a GMP QC microbiology laboratory, or an M.S. with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Advanced expertise in microbiological testing, including environmental monitoring, bioburden, endotoxin, sterility, mycoplasma, and microbial identification.
- Experience supporting aseptic manufacturing environments and cleanroom operations.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring laboratory staff and providing technical training, along with strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and microbiological control strategies.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills, plus strong interpersonal skills for collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work weekend hours as needed to support GMP operations.
