Job Title: Senior Cost Manager
Location: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are recruiting for a Senior Cost Manager opportunity supporting a fast-paced environment where accurate estimating, cost control, and project support are essential. Our team is looking for someone who can build and review estimates, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help deliver reliable cost management across a range of project types.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed construction cost and project cost estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and track project budgets, cost control reports, forecasts, and change management activities.
- Review scope documentation, assess risks, and support value engineering, design option reviews, bid analysis, and budget reconciliations.
- Research local market pricing, analyze project information, and provide accurate status updates and deliverables to clients and internal teams.
Required:
- 5-10 years of experience as an Estimator, Cost Manager, or in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with preference for Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and planning concepts, with the ability to generate AACE level 1-5 cost evaluations.
- Experience with estimating software and benchmarking tools, plus intermediate to expert level ability in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and through ambiguity, while leading teams and interacting with clients.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level stakeholders and external project partners.
