Job Title: Environmental Scientist III
Location: Houston, Texas (On-Site)
Duration: 6+ months contract with chances of extension
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced environmental permitting professional to support complex linear project work with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and schedule protection. This position plays a critical role in coordinating authorizations, guiding project stakeholders, and helping maintain momentum across new projects and existing assets.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and oversee state and federal authorization requests, including USACE Section 404/10, construction stormwater permits, hydrostatic test discharge permits, drilling mud landfarming permits, and other applicable approvals.
- Develop permitting strategies that support project schedules while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, biological science, engineering, or another relevant technical field is preferred.
- 10 or more years of consistent linear project permitting experience, primarily CWA permitting such as Nationwide Permit 12 and relevant state permits.
- Demonstrated experience with USACE permitting processes, including Section 404, Section 10, Section 408, Real Estate, and associated NEPA obligations.
- Existing positive relationships and extensive experience working with regional regulatory personnel, namely USACE Fort Worth, Galveston, and New Orleans Districts.
- General knowledge of the construction and operation of pipelines, storage, and other oil and gas-related facilities, with full-time office-based availability.
