Job Title: Staff Engineering Technician – Substation
Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled engineering technician to support site development deliverables for complex grid infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to civil design work that supports substation and overhead transmission line initiatives while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify technical deliverables using advanced design tools for site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts.
- Apply established engineering principles and design practices to moderately complex civil design concepts and solutions.
- Review design inputs, support quality expectations, and help ensure deliverables align with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with other design personnel, may provide technical guidance, and support design development, calculations, material quantities, and field activities as needed.
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Must be located within 50 miles of the Ann Arbor, MI office.
- Civil 3D experience is required.
- MicroStation experience is required.
- Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
