Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor – Risk & Controls
Location: Remote (EST or CST location)
Job Summary: We are presenting an opportunity for a Senior Internal Auditor – Risk & Controls that sits at the center of internal audit execution, control evaluation, and meaningful reporting. Our team is looking for a detail-oriented professional who can help assess risks, strengthen controls, and support clear communication of audit findings.
Responsibilities:
- Execute engagement planning activities for complex internal audits and support special projects and department-wide initiatives.
- Perform testing activities, document procedures and results, and identify missing, inadequately designed, or ineffective controls.
- Complete fact checking with auditees, prepare or supervise audit workpapers, and help ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Track engagement budgets, monitor actual time against budget, communicate findings promptly, and support junior team members through coaching and feedback.
Required:
- Minimum of three years of recent internal audit, external audit, or related experience.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college preferred but not required.
- Experience in IT, operational, and/or financial auditing or risk management, with knowledge of risks and controls.
- CISA, CPA, CIA, or related certifications are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, and inquisitive behavior, including root cause analysis.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams, and support projects including walkthroughs and meetings.
