Job Title: Senior Cost Manager
Location: Poughkeepsie, New York (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are representing a company seeking a senior-level project controls professional to help guide complex construction work from early planning through execution. This position plays a key part in cost estimating, risk management, client communication, and change control while supporting strong project outcomes across multiple engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project controls efforts across multiple complex projects and provide support through all stages of delivery.
- Prepare detailed construction cost estimates from conceptual design through final construction documents and support value engineering reviews.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor change management, bid analysis, and reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver accurate status updates, project reports, audits, and clear communication to internal and external partners.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with preference for Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- 10+ years of experience as an Estimator, Cost Manager, or in a similar role.
- Experience with both pre-contract and post-contract management project work, plus the ability to generate AACE level 1-5 cost evaluations.
- Knowledge of estimating software and benchmarking tools, including Cost-X, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Professional certification in project management such as AACE or RICS is preferred, along with familiarity with procurement and tendering processes.
