Job Title: System Administrator
Location: Owings Mills, Maryland (Hybrid)

Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior System Administrator with strong Linux/Unix infrastructure experience to support enterprise server environments and an NFS storage migration project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux, VMware, server infrastructure, storage technologies, and coordinating technical migrations with application teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6–9) servers across physical and virtual environments.

  • Manage and monitor VMware vSphere infrastructure and overall Linux/VMware platform health and performance.

  • Support NFS and storage migrations while coordinating migration activities with approximately 200 application teams.

  • Configure and maintain server processes, backups, monitoring, patching, and system documentation.

  • Plan and coordinate Linux security patching, production changes, releases, and scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support high availability, performance, and reliability of production systems.

  • Automate recurring processes using Shell/Bash or Python and improve operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with application and business teams to explain technical migration options and coordinate scheduled activities.

  • Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance or deployment activities.

Required:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration or enterprise infrastructure support.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

  • Experience with VMware vSphere/hypervisor technologies.

  • Experience with NFS, SAN, NAS, or enterprise storage, preferably including storage migrations.

  • Experience supporting physical and virtual servers in large enterprise environments.

  • Knowledge of backups, RAID, server monitoring, patching, change management, and production support.

  • Scripting experience with Shell/Bash and/or Python.
