Job Title: Operating Engineer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced professional to support critical facility operations in a fast-paced data center environment. Our team is looking for someone who can help maintain uptime by monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing essential building and electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on critical facility systems to support continuous operation and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including emergency backup systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, and related infrastructure.
- Track system readings, respond to alarms and alerts, and take corrective action to resolve issues and protect critical systems.
- Manage work orders, vendor coordination, customer-facing tickets, and emergency escalation procedures while maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3+ years of related work experience.
- Experience with systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
- Ability to work different schedules and respond to site emergencies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Access, or the ability to develop proficiency in these tools.
- Preferred experience with Corrigo, MCIM / Salesforce, Zendesk, or Service Now.
