Job Title: Operating Engineer
Location: San Antonio, Texas (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are supporting a contract-to-hire opportunity for an experienced facilities professional to help maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical building systems. Our team is seeking a candidate who can contribute across HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and related facility operations to keep the site running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor, repair, and troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, inspections, calibrations, and part replacements to support optimal HVAC performance.
- Record readings, make necessary adjustments, and help ensure proper operation of facility equipment and building systems.
- Support safety compliance, housekeeping, hazardous material handling, and oversight of outside contractor maintenance work.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2-4 years of experience is required.
- Experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems is required, along with the ability to analyze HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and take corrective action.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification is required, and two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC is required.
