Job Title: Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, California (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a collaborative scientist to support an R&D imaging and image analysis team working across multiple therapeutic and functional areas. Our team is looking for someone who brings strong experimental skills, hands-on cell culture experience, and a genuine interest in microscopy, quantitative biology, and assay development.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures and prepare cells and samples for imaging experiments.
- Develop, optimize, and execute image-based cellular assays, including co-culture and cell-cell interaction assays.
- Perform fluorescence microscopy and automated imaging experiments, supporting studies from sample preparation through image acquisition and analysis.
- Analyze, interpret, document, and communicate experimental results while helping maintain robust, reproducible imaging workflows.
Required:
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in cell biology, immunology, bioengineering, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline, with relevant laboratory experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays.
- Experience with fluorescence microscopy and quantitative image analysis, with familiarity in at least one image analysis platform or approach such as Fiji/ImageJ, Imaris, CellProfiler, commercial imaging software, or custom computational workflows.
- Experience with immunofluorescence staining, live-cell imaging, or other microscopy sample-preparation techniques; experience with primary cells, immune cells, co-culture assays, or cell-cell interaction assays is a plus.
