Job Title: Assistant Project Manager General
Location: Atlanta, GA or Chattanooga, TN (On-Site)
Overview
We are seeking experienced Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to support a growing Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Program Management team at Burns & McDonnell. In this role, you will work as an extension of the client organization to support the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure projects within the Transmission & Distribution program
- Assist with project scheduling, scope management, and resource coordination
- Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, and client stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed on time and within scope
- Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies
- Coordinate project documentation, reporting, and status updates
- Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously depending on scope and complexity
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices and program standards
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting or managing large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple project workstreams simultaneously
- Experience working with engineering, construction, or infrastructure teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly preferred:
- Transmission & Distribution (substations, transmission lines, distribution systems)
- Utilities or power infrastructure
- Telecom or fiber infrastructure
- Pipeline or oil & gas infrastructure
- Water or wastewater infrastructure
- Grid-based or linear infrastructure construction
Education
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Also considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline with relevant project management experience
- PMP or other project management certifications are a plus
