Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Thousand Oaks, California (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to support automation solutions for biological process manufacturing in a highly regulated environment. Our team is dedicated to driving process improvement, troubleshooting, and technical leadership in automation for critical site operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain process control automation solutions through Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Lead and support projects that integrate new manufacturing technologies and improve process equipment, utilities, and facilities, including capital projects of varying size and complexity.
- Conduct technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, and provide day-to-day troubleshooting support related to automation and plant operations, including on-call responsibilities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, and reliability, as well as automation business processes and data integrity assessments in line with industry standards.
Required:
- Experience with DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Rockwell Automation PLC platforms, and automation communication protocols.
- Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing and compliance requirements such as 21 CFR Part 11, ASTM 2500, S88, S95, and GAMP.
- Education and experience: Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 2 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience OR Associate’s degree with 8 years of experience OR High school diploma/GED and 10 years of experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams in a pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, or biotech engineering environment.
