Job Title: Automation Technician
Location: New Albany, Ohio (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled professional to support system and equipment optimization, upgrades, and compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment. Our team relies on this role to ensure that all automation equipment operates efficiently and meets industry and regulatory standards for a robust inspection and packaging operation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical engineering support for system upgrades, replacements, and process optimization strategies in a GMP manufacturing setting.
- Coordinate tech support for engineering, regulatory, validation, quality, calibration, technical cleaning, and automation issues, including assistance during regulatory inspections.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, automation, and process equipment issues to ensure minimal downtime and operational continuity.
- Interpret and review detailed technical plans, including PLC ladder logic, HMI diagrams, and utility system schematics, to support optimal equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Required:
- Hands-on experience in automation with at least 2 years of PLC troubleshooting proficiency, specifically with Allen-Bradley controls; familiarity with Siemens and B&R systems preferred.
- Ability to read ladder logic, diagnose and resolve electrical and automation issues, and work collaboratively with mechanical technicians on packaging equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree; OR Associate degree with 4 years of experience; OR High school diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, and background supporting operations in regulated, GMP manufacturing environments.
