Job Title: Building Engineer
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are recruiting for a Building Engineer opportunity supporting facility operations in a busy commercial environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can work independently, support daily building needs, and help keep critical systems operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs across mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems.
- Maintain HVAC systems and related equipment through cleaning, inspection, calibration, and parts replacement to support optimal performance.
- Record equipment readings, make operational adjustments as needed, and support preventative maintenance, inventory control, and vendor work oversight.
- Keep the work environment safe and organized while following proper procedures for hazardous materials, tool checks, and on-call support when needed.
Required:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Ability to analyze commercial or industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and take corrective action.
- Computer literacy for record-keeping and work order systems, including working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently in a customer service-oriented environment.
