Job Title: Building Engineer
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are partnering with this company to share an opportunity for a Building Engineer supporting the maintenance and repair of a commercial property. Our team is looking for a hands-on professional who can help keep building systems operating smoothly, respond to service needs, and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance across plumbing, electrical, locks, doors, and general building systems.
- Complete tenant service requests, including minor installations and office furniture-related repairs.
- Support the operations team with building equipment maintenance and day-to-day handyman tasks.
- Keep accurate records of completed work and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of related building maintenance or facilities experience.
- Electrical aptitude with basic electrical repair capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to produce oral and written reports.
- Fluency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Computer literacy for record-keeping and work order systems.
- Ability to work independently and stay on task in a customer service-oriented environment.
- Preferred: experience working in controlled environments, knowledge of office furniture systems installation and repair, general roofing repair experience, locksmith skills, familiarity with hazardous materials procedures, building automation or HVAC systems experience, and previous commercial property or corporate office experience.
