Job Title: Chief Engineer
Location: Hopkinsville, Kentucky (On-Site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled engineering leader to oversee daily building operations, guide a technical team, and help ensure reliable performance across critical facility systems. Our team is looking for someone who can combine hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership, compliance focus, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operation, maintenance, and reliability of building mechanical and electrical systems to support safe, efficient performance.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, vendor activity, and inventory control to help reduce downtime and support continuity of service.
- Promote safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation, including maintenance records, building drawings, single-lines, and compliance files.
- Support team development, client communication, budgeting, continuous improvement, and the use of advanced monitoring and maintenance practices.
Required:
- Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of facility-related work experience, including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience.
- 3-5 years in a senior supervisory or leadership role managing engineering teams in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facility environments.
- Knowledge of maintenance processes, construction planning and execution, HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation.
- Experience with building automation systems, energy management systems, advanced monitoring technologies, Microsoft Office, CMMS systems, and AI-powered predictive maintenance tools, IoT sensors, digital monitoring platforms, and data analytics applications for facility optimization.
- Universal Technician certification for CFCs is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment; an Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent is required; a valid electrical license or certification is highly preferred.
