Job Title: Computing Architect
Location: Seattle, Washington (On-site)
Job Summary: We are seeking a talented professional to lead the design and governance of unified data models for a digital transformation initiative within the aviation training sector. Our team is looking for an individual who can drive data architecture excellence, ensuring scalable, high-quality data solutions across a global organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and maintain Unified Data Model (UDM) artifacts and mapping logic for advanced analytics applications.
- Collaborate with distributed engineering teams to define process layers, transformation rules, data lineage, and schema evolution in a datalake built on Azure Databricks.
- Translate business and technical requirements into actionable data transformation specifications and ensure adherence to governance and security policies.
- Provide technical mentoring, conduct architecture/code reviews, and facilitate effective communication across time zones to ensure successful solution delivery.
Required:
- 9+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or related data engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Unified Data Models; strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling across multiple process layers.
- Expertise in data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality; experience with Databricks and building/architecting datalake solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams and flexibility for off-hour work to coordinate with colleagues in different time zones.
