Job Title: Customer/1 Application Architect – Utility Customer Billing Systems
Location: Remote
Job Summary: We are seeking a senior application architect to provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for complex application initiatives within customer billing systems. Our team is looking for a candidate who can guide solution design, support implementation, and help align delivery with enterprise standards while working closely with project managers, development teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead application architecture and technical design efforts for customer billing systems initiatives.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the SDLC, from design through implementation.
- Act as the technical interface between development teams, vendors, and project management.
- Identify application-level risks, support mitigation planning, and help ensure solution quality, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Required:
- 8–10 years of experience with Customer Billing Systems, specifically CSS (Customer/1).
- 8+ years working in a formal SDLC environment.
- Experience working in utility or regulated environments.
- Strong application architecture and systems integration experience.
- Proven experience leading technical teams, including internal and vendor resources, with the ability to manage and hold vendors accountable.
- Technical experience with mainframe technologies, COBOL, DB2, UNIX, GoAnywhere, MuleSoft Managed File Transfer (MFT), C++, Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP), client/server and internet-based architectures, and basic WAN/networking concepts.
