Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are partnering with a leading organization to recruit a Data Analyst for a high-impact laboratory data and analytics environment. Our team is seeking someone who can help define requirements, support testing and validation, and turn complex scientific and operational data into clear insights that support delivery across the laboratory technology landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with laboratory stakeholders, instrument owners, functional leads, engineers, reference data teams, and vendors to document data-capture and instrument-integration needs.
- Translate business needs into detailed requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation.
- Support backlog refinement, prioritization, dependency tracking, testing, validation, defect triage, and release readiness activities.
- Use SQL and analytics or visualization tools to explore, validate, summarize, and report on laboratory and instrument data.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in Science, Technology, Business Analysis, Laboratory Informatics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience; or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in one of these areas.
- Proven business analysis and agile delivery experience, including gathering, documenting, and refining clear, detailed, testable requirements.
- Hands-on experience creating and executing test scripts, supporting UAT, documenting validation evidence and results, and managing defects and approvals in a regulated or quality-focused environment.
- Experience with laboratory informatics or scientific data workflows, such as ELN, LIMS, Sample Management, or Instrument Data Acquisition, plus working knowledge of SQL and dashboard/reporting tools such as Databricks, Spotfire, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of JIRA or a similar tool for requirements, backlog, issue, and defect tracking.
- Ability to communicate effectively across laboratory, business, and technical stakeholders.
