Job Title: Data Center Engineer

Job Summary: We are recruiting for a Data Center Engineer opportunity supporting a 24/7/365 mission-critical environment in Raleigh. This role is essential to maintaining uptime across complex electrical and mechanical infrastructure while helping keep vital operations running reliably. The Data Center Engineer will play a hands-on part in monitoring, maintaining, and responding to critical systems with precision and urgency.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain critical building systems, including fire/life safety, HVAC, cooling equipment, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, power distribution, and transformers.
  • Monitor system performance, record equipment readings, identify issues, and take prompt corrective action when equipment malfunctions or operating conditions change.
  • Manage work orders through CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and respond to customer-facing tickets in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow emergency escalation procedures, support site emergencies, and help maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.

Required:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working in a data center or critical facility environment.
  • Experience with mission-critical building systems, including UPS systems, emergency generators, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document activities and communicate technical information clearly.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 feet, work at heights, and navigate rooftops.
  • Flexibility to work different schedules, including holidays, and respond to site emergencies as needed; ability to frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and work overhead.
