Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Beaverton, OR (Hybrid)
Job Summary: We are supporting an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to help design, build, and improve data products that support business partners and product teams. This role is well suited to a candidate who enjoys high-volume data processing, collaboration in an Agile/Scrum environment, and contributing to solutions that improve data quality, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and business partners.
- Build and support distributed data processing pipelines and related utilities, libraries, and frameworks.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root cause analysis, and help resolve operational and performance issues across teams.
- Contribute to architecture, testing, continuous integration/deployment practices, and ongoing improvements to data engineering standards.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale software development and 5+ years of big data experience.
- Programming experience with Python or Scala preferred, plus experience with Hadoop and processing frameworks such as Spark and Hive.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, SQL and SQL analytical functions, workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, and source code control tools such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work in an Agile/Scrum application development environment, and quickly learn new languages, technologies, and frameworks.
- Experience with messaging/streaming/complex event processing tooling and frameworks.
